Third ViWaS Newsletter Available

From today, the third ViWaS newsletter is available. The main topic in this issue are potential cost and operational benefits through hybrid locomotives. Project partner Bentheimer Eisenbahn performed a cost-benefit analysis in order to evaluate effects on the company’s relations. A new superstructure prototype for Wascosa’s flex freight© wagon has been delivered in August 2014. The new log wood superstructure enables a more flexible usage of the car pool. WagonSIM, an agent-based simulation tool developed by ETH Zurich, aims at the optimisation of the overall SWL transport. Another operation analysis was perfomed by TU Berlin that focuses on the integration of SWL in the production schemes of Combined Transport (CT). The newsletter is available within the Media Centre.
